Liverpool are set to bid for £42M dynamo that Jurgen Klopp is “admiring” – he’s raw but has huge potential

Jurgen Klopp is "admiring" Moises Caicedo

In the world of all things Liverpool FC, the hot topic in recent weeks has been the midfield and Moises Caicedo, a self-confessed Manchester United fan, could be on his way to Anfield if things go to plan for the Anfield outfit.

More in hope than expectation, rumours have been flying around about various midfield targets that could ease the injury crisis currently crippling the Reds.

Recently the club has been linked with a £42M bid for Brighton youngster Moises Caicedo.

As we covered on Thursday, reports from South American outlet, Studio Football, suggest that Liverpool are “looking to sign” Caicedo from Brighton and are “preparing a bid” around the €50M (£42M) mark.

Will Liverpool make a move and get Caicedo after all?

Speaking to The Redmen TV, local journalist Neil Jones weighed in on the Ecuador international and the links with a move.

While Jones admitted that he has not heard anything in regards to a transfer being on the horizon, there was an interesting admission.

Initially naming Caicedo as the “flavour of the month”, it was then claimed that Liverpool are “admiring of his current form”.

It could be a case of just that.

A player in fine form with the entire league taking notice of his ability and how he is performing on the big stage.

Despite indicating a move is unlikely during this transfer window, it is worth keeping an eye on the player for the future.

Should admiration for Moises Caicedo turn to action for the Reds?

Being in awe of brilliant performances from the middle of the park while their own midfield is struggling is painful to Liverpool fans.

With an engine room consisting of injury-prone, ageing and very youthful options, a case can certainly be made for a 20-year-old player ready to slot straight in.

The talk around the club is widely focused on a swoop for Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2023.

Undoubtedly, the young English player can be a force for the next decade and can prove to be a game changer.

By the time next summer rolls around, however, the club could be in need of several players in the same position.

James Milner is expected to be in his final season at the club and Naby Keita’s future remains unclear.

Additionally, Jordan Henderson and Thiago will be a year older with many more minutes in their legs.

Should Jurgen Klopp be looking to bring in such a highly sought-after prospect before it’s too late?
